Texas Girl trademark drawing — Tea and Coffee Trade Journal, Nov 1930

The Tea and Coffee Trade Journal for November 1930 (p. 677) prints the Texas Girl wordmark drawing, Serial No. 304,143, in its “Trade Marks Pending in the U. S. Patent Office” mosaic. The mark appears in heavy slab-serif capitals and was filed by Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee Co. of San Antonio. It is one of the earliest Texas-themed brand identities the company put before the Patent Office and sits in the same mosaic with Tusco, Royal Hidalgo, Albor, Bear Mountain, Bonita, King Arthur, Chuck Wagon, India Excelso, Pecan Valley, Black Bird, Dutch Homestead, and Dean’s.
