Three-Pound Crystalvac Jar with Wire Handle and Original Red Lid

The large three-pound Crystalvac jar with its original red screw-cap lid still in place, a wire bail handle looped through the neck for carrying. The lid is embossed around the edge with the “WE ROAST IT — OTHERS PRAISE IT” motto and carries the flowing “Crystalvac” script over a “VACUUM PACKED” panel; the red paint has oxidized into a deep patina but the stamping is still crisp. “Crystalvac” is embossed in cursive on the glass body as well. The three-pound size was produced by Owens-Illinois for H and H after the Three Rivers factory closed in 1938 — the cleaner, later O-I mold work is distinct from the earlier Three Rivers runs covered elsewhere in the collection.

Red lid, wire handle — a rare combination to find with both parts surviving.
