Harnit & Hewitt one-pound Mocha Blend paper-label tin, gold body, mocha and steel-cut copy, Toledo Ohio

This one-pound tin comes from the Harnit & Hewitt Co. in Toledo, Ohio. Older eBay copy sometimes misspelled the city as Toldeo; the firm is a separate H & H trade name, not Hoffmann–Hayman San Antonio, so the tin sits in the not H and H set as a name-collision example.

The body is gold-tone shell steel with a single seam and crimped base like a modern soup can, no legible can-maker mark, and a full paper label. The top takes a friction lid (not keywind) that fits over a rolled lip. The label still reads Steel Cut, Chaff Removed, and the guarantee that the pack contains one-half genuine mocha coffee blended with other fine coffees to hold flavor in the cup.
