Keeping Inventory in the 1940s — Wall Notes

Handwritten figures and labels on a pale, rough plaster or stone wall: a column of numbers, the word PULVORISA in block capitals (likely “pulverized” grind), and lines for Regular and DRIP — the kind of informal tally you’d expect inside a working roastery when paper wasn’t at hand. The surface is pitted and cracked; the strokes look like chalk or soft pencil. It is not a formal ledger, but it is exactly the sort of fugitive documentation that survives when the books are gone.
