Charles Harper Griswold (c. 1875 – January 1953, age 78). Native of Athens, Ohio; lived in San Antonio 40 years at his death (placing his arrival around 1913, near the Morrison/H&H consolidation era). Retired traffic manager for the H. and H. Coffee Company, for whom he had worked 26 years. Resided at 3803 S. Presa St.
Role
As traffic manager, Griswold oversaw shipping, freight, and distribution logistics — documenting that H&H maintained a dedicated internal traffic department for its regional distribution network. His 26-year tenure (c. 1913–c. 1940 or later) spans the company’s growth from the Morrison-acquisition era through the move to 601 Delaware Street.

Active and charter member of the Hatfield Memorial Church of the Nazarene. Survived by his wife; sons Lewis W. and Carl C. Griswold (Hawthorne, Calif.); daughters Mrs. Roy B. Whitson (Cumberland, Md.) and Mrs. Erna Griswold Morgan; stepdaughter Mrs. Cyrus Earliwine; sister Miss Carrie Griswold (San Antonio); 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Burial at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
