Old Roaster Door at the H and H Coffee Factory
The original coffee roaster is still inside the 1932 Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee Co. factory on the east side of San Antonio. The door is weathered and rusted, but the “OLD ROASTER” DYMO embossed label is still readable on the power box. Cream-colored enamel covers the door in a cracked, alligatored crust, with rust streaks bleeding down the face and a raised inset panel below the label equally eaten through. A pipe runs out the top of the enclosure and threads up through the concrete wall overhead.
