The 6 June 1909 San Antonio Express-News (page 30) prints a society paragraph, introduced by a row of diamond ornaments and no separate headline, for the 1 June 1909 wedding of William R. Hoffman and Wilhelmina Menger (groom spelling Hoffman in the type), daughter of Dr. and Mrs. R. Menger, at the bride’s parents’ home on East Commerce Streetintimate relatives only, including Hoffman family from New Braunfels—with at home plans the latter part of that month in a new cottage at Nolan and Hackberry streets. The item calls Mr. Hoffman a prosperous coffee and tea merchant formerly of New Braunfels and St. Louisoccupation and migration detail the 2 June Light marriage-license column does not carry. William R. Hoffman and Wilhelmina Menger, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. R. Menger, were married June 1, at the home of the bride’s parents, on East Commerce Street. Only intimate relatives were present, including the Hoffman family of New Braunfels. The couple will be at home the latter part of the month in their new cottage, at Nolan and Hackberry Streets. Mr. Hoffman is a prosperous merchant in the coffee and tea business, formerly of New Braunfels and St. Louis.
