Newspaper notice: business continuation after William R. Hoffmann’s death — Mrs. Hoffmann at 228 East Commerce — *San Antonio Express-News*, 16 Jan 1912, p. 16

The 16 January 1912 San Antonio Express-News (page 16) runs a small display NOTICE. set between horizontal rules with a centered diamond—the same wholesale copy William R. Hoffmann’s customers would have seen, now signed in print by his widow. It promises continuity: coffee, tea, and spice at the old place of business, 228 East Commerce Street, by Mrs. William R. Hoffmann, with the same “promptness and courtesy” as before. In the site’s January 1912 cluster, that places Minnie in charge of the stand after the Light obituary and Express-News funeral notice and before the February Texas charter for the Hoffmann–Hayman company. Biographies: William Robert Hoffmann, Wilhelmina Menger Hoffmann. (Newspapers.com export title can spell the surname Hoffman; the notice types Hoffmann.) The figure is the embedded newspaper bitmap from the PDF (pdfimages), not the full Newspapers.com export frame.
