San Antonio Light clipping — "New Enterprise Deserves Success," Western Coffee Company at Buena Vista & Comal, 25 August 1907

This San Antonio Light profile, published the same Sunday as the Express piece on the new roasting plant, gives the Western Coffee Company — at the corner of Buena Vista and Comal streets — a softer publicity treatment with president H. C. Wedemeyer speaking directly about installation of “one of the most complete and up-to-date coffee-roasting plants in the entire south,” buying in car-load lots, and the “art in blending coffee” pitch. Pairs with the 31 May 1907 charter filing to bracket the predecessor firm’s first season.

NEW ENTERPRISE DESERVES SUCCESS.

A new enterprise recently established in San Antonio is the Western Coffee Company, located at the corner of Buena Vista and Comal streets. Mr. H. C. Wedemeyer, president of the company, speaks enthusiastically of the business outlook. “We have installed here,” he said, “one of the most complete and up-to-date coffee-roasting plants in the entire south and are prepared to handle a big business throughout this southwestern country. We buy in car-load lots and can furnish the trade with the best grade of coffees. We believe there is as much art in blending coffee as there is in painting a picture, and our long experience in buying, blending and roasting, insure to our customers the most satisfactory results.”

A visit to their plant is convincing evidence that all the modern appliances to facilitate prompt and efficient service are at the command of dealers who handle their line of goods.
