*San Antonio Light*, 9 Aug 1955, p. 14 — Obituary of Paul Poppe, age 84, 2200 Broadway. Survivors include granddaughter Mrs. S. P. Stevens.

The 1955 obituary of Paul Poppe of 2200 Broadway, San Antonio, establishes a genealogical connection: Mrs. S. P. Stevens is listed as one of his granddaughters, giving S. P. Stevens a father-in-law’s family with deep San Antonio roots. Poppe was a member of Anton Wenzel Lodge 174 and was interred at Mission Burial Park — the same cemetery where Gus P. Menger and Minnie Menger Schlosser are buried. Mrs. S. P. Stevens’s maiden name would derive from the Flores or Poppe side of the family (her mother is listed as Mrs. I. H. Flores, a daughter of Paul Poppe).
