While we were building the Three Rivers Glass collecting lane described in Glass Bottles from Three Rivers, we also held several embossed regional soda bottles that are not Hoffmann-Hayman branding but sit in the same Texas–Gulf crown-top glass world. The physical bottles were later sold to Mac Johanson (Three Rivers, TX) — the same transfer path documented for accessions HH-BOTTLE-2014-0001 (Diamond K) and HH-BOTTLE-2014-0002 (Shiner-listing clear bottle). The frames below are collection-period photographs kept for documentation after the glass left San Antonio; these lots are not separately listed on the accession register.

Photo file dates: 20140705-* = 5 July 2014 shelf session; 20160220-* = 20 February 2016 black-backdrop session (camera filenames preserved in the gallery paths).

July 2014 shelf shots capture how some of the bottles lived on the shelf next to other sodas. February 2016 black-backdrop frames are straight object studies of individual bottles before they went out.

July 2014 — shelf context

Shelf lineup including Balloon-embossed soda and related bottles (5 July 2014)

Clear Balloon branding embossed on the tall bottle at left (paper dealer tag on the neck); other period sodas share the same shelf row — useful context for how these pieces sat beside unrelated labels in the room collection. File date: 20140705 (5 July 2014).

Hippo Soda bottle — embossed hippo roundel, HIPPO SODA arc, 13 fl. oz., patent Nov. 21, 1922 (5 July 2014)

Hippo Soda with embossed HIPPO SODA arc, hippo illustration, REG. U.S. PAT. OFF., CONTENTS 13 FL. OZ., and PATD NOV 21 1922 on the glass (that patent date is molded in the bottle, not a photograph timestamp). The small handwritten dealer tag in the frame reads “Hippo Soda Bottle 1926” and $13.50 — treat 1926 as the seller’s written attribution on the tag, not a separate in-house dating step. File date: 20140705 (5 July 2014).

February 2016 — individual studies

Dr Pepper — Good for Life, 10-2-4 clock embossing (20 February 2016)

Embossed Dr Pepper script with GOOD FOR LIFE! and the classic 10, 2, 4 roundels — the inventory list in Three Rivers Glass Bottles cites this general “10, 2 & 4” form as Smith’s #19. File date: 20160220 (20 February 2016).

Nehi — vertical rope texture, NEHI panel, COLUMBUS, GA. heel (20 February 2016)

Nehi with REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. under the brand band and COLUMBUS, GA. at the base — matches the #49 Nehi entry on the bottle reference page. File date: 20160220 (20 February 2016).

Smile — script shoulder, hobnail texture, 6½ fl. oz. contents line (20 February 2016)

Smile script on the shoulder over a hobnail-style embossed field; CONTENTS 6 1/2 FL. OZ. at the lower body — the same general Smile / Glenmora, LA pattern noted under “Unknown” on the working bottle list until a firmer Smith list match turns up. File date: 20160220 (20 February 2016).

Register: No discrete accession numbers were assigned to these five objects before transfer; provenance is tracked here as archival photography tied to the broader Mac Johanson exit, alongside HH-BOTTLE-2014-0001 and HH-BOTTLE-2014-0002.
