Mi Tierra Cafe
Mi Tierra Cafe
San Antonio, Texas. Long-running Market Square restaurant founded by Pedro and Cruz Cortez in 1941. Documented as an H and H Master Chef Coffee customer — the painted portrait of the Cortez founders shown on the 2016 Edible San Antonio spread (and reproduced on the 2016 Nuestra Cultura · 75 Años lanyard pass) renders the Master Chef Coffee sign on the building wall to the right of the Mi Tierra marquee. The Witte Museum’s Mi Cultura — Bringing Shadows Into the Light exhibit (2 September 2023 – 27 May 2024) included Al Rendón’s photography of the cafe and its 75-year anniversary materials.
