Newspaper funeral notice: William R. Hoffmann — 631 Nolan Street, City Cemetery No. 1 — *San Antonio Express-News*, 11 Jan 1912, p. 14

The 11 January 1912 San Antonio Express-News (page 14) prints a two-line headline block (FUNERAL NOTICE. / WILLIAM R. HOFFMANN.) and a short agate funeral paragraph: time of death 1:45 p.m. “Wednesday”; aged line in years, months, and days; service “today” at 4 o’clock from the late residence, 631 Nolan; City Cemetery No. 1 interment. Time and place line up with the same-day Light death notice (“33 years old”; Nolan street). The tens digit in the age line is easy to read as 5 in this scan; we keep 33 to match the Light obit and the History timeline (1878–1912), and the 13 Jan Express-News burial-permit listing for this death (separate gallery item). The notice sits on the same printed page as the Knights of Pythias lodge call, the Royal Achates notice, and other 11 Jan Express-News clippings in the newspaper gallery; Newspapers.com reuses one page image id for those exports. Biography: William Robert Hoffmann. The figure is the embedded newspaper bitmap from the PDF (pdfimages), not the full export frame.

FUNERAL NOTICE

WILLIAM R. HOFFMANN

Died, in San Antonio, Tex., at 1:45 p. m. Wednesday, William R. Hoffmann, aged 33 years 2 months and 15 days. Funeral will take place from late residence, 631 Nolan Street, today at 4 o’clock. Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend. Interment in City Cemetery No. 1.

The age line in this clip is ambiguous in the type (the tens digit can be read as 3 or 5). 33 is adopted here to match the same-day *Light obituary and the History page; the arithmetic from 25 Oct 1878 to 10 Jan 1912 supports 33.*
