The 11 January 1912 San Antonio Express-News (page 14) prints a Knights of Pythias lodge notice asking members of Lotus Lodge No. 89 to assemble at Castle Hall at 3 o’clock “today” for the funeral of William R. Hoffmann—the coffee merchant and founder whose death the Light also carried that same date. Unity and Elk lodges are invited. Biographical context: William Robert Hoffmann. ATTENTION, KNIGHTS OF PYTHIAS!

All members of Lotus Lodge No. 89, K. of P., are requested to meet at Castle Hall today at 3 o’clock to attend the funeral of our late brother William R. Hoffmann. Members of Unity and Elk lodges respectfully invited.
