The 11 January 1912 San Antonio Express-News (page 14) carries a Royal Achates notice for Alamo Lodge No. 34, asking members to meet at the hall at 3 o’clock “today” for the funeral of William R. Hoffmann—the tea and coffee merchant whose death the Light also reported that same date. ATTENTION, ROYAL ACHATES!

All members of Alamo Lodge, No. 34, Royal Achates, are requested to meet at the hall today at 3 o’clock to attend the funeral of our late brother, William R. Hoffmann. Members of Grinnell respectfully invited.
