Let’s settle fresh coffee — San Antonio Light cooperative ad, 25 March 1932

This 25 March 1932 San Antonio Light display ad (page 29) is a cooperative “fresh coffee” message shared by several local roasters. It pitches locally blended and roasted coffee delivered fresh, and closes with a lineup of firms and brands — including Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee Co., roasters of H and H, alongside other San Antonio names. The clip is useful for seeing H and H positioned in the same city-wide freshness campaign as competitors, not as a solo placement.

Let’s settle this question about FRESH COFFEE once and for all
For months there have been staggering claims about fresh coffee in newspapers, on the radio, and on bulletin boards.
Science has definitely proven — and every coffee roaster agrees — that coffee flavor is at its peak immediately after roasting, and deteriorates the longer it sits on a grocer’s shelf.
Mrs. Housewife, the only way to ensure fresh coffee in San Antonio is to buy coffee blended and roasted locally and delivered fresh daily.
These San Antonio firms pay local taxes, support schools, churches, libraries, and playgrounds, and actually support over 800 San Antonians.
This campaign is sponsored by the listed roasters to show their coffee is DAYS FRESHER.
