Full-page Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee Co. display ad, the 1960 iteration of the Burpee Flower Garden coupon-redemption campaign that earlier ran on 25 February 1958 in the San Antonio Light. Two notable differences in the 1960 version: it adds Master Chef Instant Coffee to the qualifying brand list (alongside H and H, Master Chef, and Texas Girl), and the photographic centerpiece is updated to feature the contemporary 1960 packaging line-up — Texas Girl tin, Master Chef regular and instant, an H and H tin with a “SAVE 4¢” flash, and a Master Chef Drip Grind can.
For provenance and dating of H and H, Master Chef, and Texas Girl packaging, the line-up photograph is unusually useful: it documents the simultaneous market presence of all four products in May 1960, and the H and H tin design (with the 4¢-off label) is a datable variant. The offer expired May 31, 1960; mail-in P.O. Box was 1509, San Antonio. Tagline: “All are products of one of Texas’ oldest, large coffee roasters.”
