“You’ll Praise It Too” tea trademark — The Spice Mill, October 1924

The Spice Mill for October 1924 (p. 2128) reprints the USPTO “Trade-Marks Published During September, 1924” list. In the September 9 batch:

197,935. Tea. Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee Co., San Antonio, Tex. “YOU’LL PRAISE IT TOO.”

This is a trademark for tea — not coffee — confirming that H&H actively maintained tea as a product category by 1924. “You’ll Praise It Too” as a mark is consistent with the company’s period advertising tone, which often built on word-of-mouth and satisfaction testimonials. Whether a corresponding “You’ll Praise It” mark existed for coffee, or whether this phrase was exclusive to the tea line, is not yet resolved from available sources.

The Spice Mill was a New York trade publication covering the spice, coffee, tea, and flavoring industries. It ran a monthly digest of USPTO trademark publications as a service to the trade.
