The Tea and Coffee Trade Journal for November 1930 (p. 677) shows “Texas Girl” (Serial No. 304,143; Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee Co., San Antonio, Tex.; coffee) in the “Trade Marks Pending” section under Week Ending October 21, 1930.

This filing predates the previously documented Texas Girl Coffee launch by approximately three years. Project sources had placed the introduction of Texas Girl Coffee in October 1933, based on San Antonio newspaper advertising. The October 1930 trademark application establishes that H&H secured — or began the process of securing — the name in 1930, suggesting the brand concept existed well before it appeared in retail advertising. Whether the mark was used continuously from 1930 or filed speculatively and activated later in 1933 requires additional evidence.

The mark appears in the same week’s pending list as several other regional coffee brands: Royal Hidalgo (Los Angeles), Dutch Homestead (Brooklyn), and Tusco (Tuscaloosa). The illustrated mosaic at the bottom of the page renders TEXAS GIRL in bold block caps alongside KING ARTHUR, CHUCK WAGON, and other contemporary coffee marks — all competing trademarks from small and mid-sized regional roasters.
